File under: Things I Never Do/Why The Hell Not
I don’t usually extend an invitation to random people, but it’s looking to be a low-key night. I’ll be drinking in my neighborhood after a rough week of work, three boozy Restaurant Week meals and a drunken Friday night out.
Tonight I’ll be at Village Pourhouse (UWS location) getting my wings and beer on. If anyone’s around and wants to meet up, feel free to join me...

I adore Bill Cunningham. He photographed my Fire Island event back in 2006. I remember having one of those “Holy cow, I work in New York” moments after I recognized him at the event.
I have very strong feelings about piano bars.

Truth: I briefly moonlighted as a singing waitress in a West Village piano bar (Marie’s Crisis) while I was lawyering. I was Audrey to a thousand faceless Seymours. If you buy me a drink, I’ll sing you a song…
Obviously, there is some karaoke in our future. Or just loud singing in public to whatever song is playing at the bar, because that’s usually what I do about 4...
The ghosts of roommates' past.

A couple of months ago, Antikris posted something about how subletters basically think you are running a hotel. I can completely see her point, while people come and go, the lease holder is stuck doing all the dirty work. Last night, I did another deep clean of our apartment. I find myself doing these once a month because with three cats, it can get pretty disgusting. Last night I...

A heads-up to analog photography lovers in the New York area: the Lomographic Society International have just opened up a gallery store in New York. It’s located on 41 West 8th Street, just a few blocks north of Washington Square Park. I really want to go check it out tonight after work, but the weather sucks.
I work near here and will definitely check out this store. I...

Yet another White Whine from me
“I think I need to stop using Paul Mitchell shampoo; it weighs down my hair. I thought it was supposed to be a clarifying shampoo!”
I wish Mom was on Gchat every day at work.
Me: just poured cup of coffee into my keyboard. please hold!
Mom: great now your keyboard will be awake all night from the caffeine

Here’s hoping this awful review means I can get a very cheap ticket. I don’t care what you say, Ben Brantley, I love me some Hedda and I love me some Mary-Louise.
Ouch. I still want discount tickets!

– Me Wearing Aretha’s Hat (via anthropophagous) (via alohanico)
How great that a local business is now on the map and a part of history. I have a fantastic wide-brimmed hat that I plan to wear to a Sunday gospel service in Central Harlem with my friend very soon.
Early to rise
I woke up super early this morning and decided to take advantage of the day. I’m wandering down to SoHo with my camera to explore some street art before a rowdy drunk brunch at 2 p.m.
Anyone is welcome to meet up with me for any of these adventures!
Best birthday party plug ever
My friend often sends around a “party people” listing, full of upcoming parties and get-togethers, and she included my 30th birthday party that is quickly approaching (yikes!):
Friday, February 13 starting 7pm at [Bar] “The other Amanda”, she of the “sexy library glasses” will be celebrating her thirtieth at one of our favorite east side dives. Ain’t no...
