Ruminations on Apizza

ohhleary:

lrusso:

Anyone out there from Connecticut should know what I’m talking about…New Haven apizza.  On the way up to Vermont we did I drive by down Wooster street to check out the line at Pepe’s.  At noon on Friday, the line was approx one hour.  For the uninitiated, this is pretty standard.  As we were trying to keep to a schedule, we decided to forgo Pepe’s and head to Modern.  Modern usually ranks third as part of the holy triumvirate of Sally’s, Pepe’s and Modern.  I have to say, Modern was pretty freakin delicious.  It’s no Sally’s but if you’re in the neighborhood and there is a serious wait at Sally’s or Pepe’s, check out Modern and get the white clam pizza.  You can thank me later.

I stop in New Haven every time I go home to visit my parents, and I haven’t been to either of these three nor have I been to Louis’ Lunch. I need to make this happen.

I love Modern but now want to try Frank Pepe after reading this article.
