They're creepy and they're kooky...

I can’t believe it’s that time of year again, but will anyone be in Chicago for Christmas?

Perhaps someone who wants to see The Addams Family musical with me at the Ford Center?

photo “Nothing like the city” - Ragtime
I’m very excited to see Ragtime next weekend after my gala.
Ragtime (original cast) was the first Broadway show I ever saw, back in 1999 when I sang at Carnegie Hall with my college choir (I’m cool, right?). I got hooked on this town. I found myself back in New York the next year, interviewing for internships at Broadway marketing agencies. I almost moved here immediately after college graduation in 2001, but spontaneously decided to attend grad school. A full-time internship at a Broadway company finally brought me here a year later.
Anyway, I work with one of the producers and they generously offered me tickets. When I write my thank you note, I will be sure to mention the effect the original production of Ragtime had on me. I associate that show with the moment I realized that I need to be in New York, helping make art and music. Still working on making that a full-time reality.
Tonight I’m a bit nostalgic (maybe it’s the pinot noir), but I really do love my life.
